Ernestine Wigelsworth is a licensed pharmacist and the Lead Pharmacist at our Florida Specialty Pharmacy. Born and raised in Jacksonville, Ernestine attended the University of North Florida to receive her Bachelor of Science in Chemistry before heading to South University in Savannah, GA where she earned her Doctor of Pharmacy.

When she was a freshman in high school, her mother was diagnosed with cervical cancer: “I remember everything that happened that day,” she says, “the fear, the sadness, and the disbelief.” She continues, “If I was feeling that way, I can only imagine how she was feeling. Thankfully, she got treatment very quickly and has been cancer free for over 20 years!!”

That experience has aided her immensely when it comes to understanding patient’s needs: “I don’t tell many patients about my experience with my mom, but I hope the steps I take to treat each of them like family speak for themselves,” she says.

“There really are no words to describe the feeling of knowing that you’ve helped a patient live a longer and healthier life,” she continues. “I do feel a sense of joy and fulfillment when I am able to positively impact the life and wellbeing of another person in such a big way.”

When not in the office, Ernestine enjoys binge watching TV shows, reading, and relaxing on the beach with her family.
